Obituary

Lorrie G. (TeVogh) Mead, 71, of Salem (Green Township), passed away early Saturday morning, November 22, 2025, at her home.

The daughter of the late Robert and Alta Lea (Trager) Neff, she was born in Minnesota.  Then as a young child lived in Zelienople, PA before moving to Gavers, Ohio.  After graduating she moved to Salem, Ohio where she met her husband Bob Mead of Greenford.

She had been a resident of Green Township, where she and her doting husband of 50 years, Bob Mead, raised their two daughters together. She was a 1971 graduate of Southern Local High School and an adult graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She earned her degree while working full time in Salem at Worthington Custom Plastics and raising a family.  In high school she was an active band member, playing the saxophone at every Friday night football game to get a break from farm chores and milking by hand on her family's dairy farm.  Throughout the years she has been very creative with many different hobbies and most recently she was all about her chickens and her fur babies Tootsie and Tanner.  Over the past several years she would often attend church sermons and events at Calvary Baptist Church (Depot Road) Salem with her daughter Kelly and grandsons Jake and Sam.

Lorrie was the true matriarch of the family, hosting family holidays and summer picnics throughout the years at her home. Lorrie was an amazing cook, she made the best BBQ grilled chicken, lasagna, potato soup, hamburger gravy, chicken noodle soup, and many other family-loved dishes. Growing up, her daughters were always active in something and no matter what it was or where it was Lorrie was there cheering them on.  She somehow managed to juggle it all from working full time, going to school and the girls Jane-etts, sporting events, marching band and flag line shows.  She was truly a family-oriented person and made sure all were taken care of to her fullest ability.  As her daughters grew older her time was transferred to her fur babies and her grandsons.  She had a special way in how she would express herself.  You always knew there was a love for everyone because she cared so deeply.

The Occupational Therapy education broadened her focus on helping others who were in need. That part of her never quit over the years. She had been recently looking in or calling folks in the area to see if they needed any assistance. The love and compassion she extended to others was only a fraction compared to the amount of Grammy/ Memes love given to her grandchildren. She was there as much as she possibly could be to support them in all they did.  She loved listening to her youngest grandson Sammy singing bible songs as he played with cars or built his magna tiles and watching movies and eating popcorn with her oldest grandson Jake.

Lorrie will be truly missed by her husband, Robert, her daughters, Kelly Rae Mead of Columbiana and Kim Marie (Dana) Foster, her grandchildren, Jake Robert Wetzler, Sam Robert Mead, and Dalton Foster, siblings, Margaret Davis of Salem, Robert Neff of Alliance, and Rhonda "Butch" Phillips of Kensington, brothers-in-law: Eugene (Sue) Mead of New Springfield and Clifford (Marge) Mead of Columbiana and sister-in-law Norene (Russ) Wealther of Columbiana and her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law Walter C. Mead and mother-in-law Verda (French) Mead and siblings: Clifford TeVogh, Vivian Wiebel, Colleen Liebert, Arthur TeVogh, Bobbie Culler, and a sister-in-law, Linda Leonard.
