Obituary

Mable Ruth (Murray) Stauffer 96, of Hanover Twp./Lisbon (formerly of Struthers), died peacefully February 18, 2024 at the home of her daughter.

She was born September 25, 1927, in Scottdale, PA, the youngest daughter of the late Charles H. and Lyda (Rolla) Murray.

In the 1980's Mable worked for Krest Dry Cleaners in the Boardman Plaza and Boomba's Restaurant on South Ave. in Youngstown in the 1990's (arguably the best pierogies in the valley) until her retirement in 1998.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter; Lois (Frank E. JR) Davis, five step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Stauffer whom she married April 8, 1951, two brothers, Gilbert and William, and a sister, Stella (Murray) Dale.

The family would like to thank Akeso Hospice for their help in Mable's final weeks.

She loved animals more than life itself and always went the extra mile to help those animals in need. Mable was a founding member of Animal Charity of Ohio in 1962. To honor her memory, donations can be made in her name to an animal rescue/shelter of your choice.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
