Margaret Ruth (Bennett) Berg, of Columbia, South Carolina, gained her angel wings on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 just weeks shy of her one hundredth birthday.

Margaret was born at home on September 14, 1923, the daughter of James and Anna (Hack) Bennett in Kent, Ohio.

Margaret married her one and only love, Robert W. Berg, on February 15, 1946 after he returned from WWII. She was a homemaker while raising five children in Salem, Ohio.

Surviving are her sons; Richard A. Berg of Salem, Ohio and James Robert (Diane) Berg of The Villages, FL, her daughters; Cathy B. (Michael) Cochcroft and Cheri B. (Bill) Williams of South Carolina, along with six grandsons and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and five siblings, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Carole Lamphere, her daughter-in-law Peggy Berg, and two grandsons.

Services will be held on Saturday, 1:30 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Salem. Pastor Cyndi Midlick will be officiating. A time of visitation will be from 11:30 AM -1:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery.
