Margaret Starbuck died in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 10, 2020 at the age of 102. A memorial service will be arranged later.
Survived by sister, Dorothy Tharpe and three children, Allen Starbuck (Michelle Scala), Roanoke, VA, Eric Starbuck, Pittsburgh, PA, and Edith Starbuck (Michael Benson), Cincinnati, OH. Deceased, daughter, Dorothy Starbuck (2005).
Born to Ida (Roeder) Nace and Edwin A. Nace, 7/8/1917, Glen Rock, PA. Siblings, Allen Nace (deceased), Mary Alice Alexander (deceased), and Dorothy Tharpe. Grew upin Cleveland, OH.
Graduated,1939, School of Education of Western Reserve University. Taught primary grades in Cleveland and Mentor, OH. Worked as a staff member of the Pine Mountain Settlement School, Bledsoe, KY.
Married, 1947, to Robert Starbuck (1906-1979). Came to Salem, OH, 1953 by way of Richmond, IN, and Pine Mountain Settlement School, KY. Taught primary grades at Salem Public School System, Salem, OH, 1959-1979. Member of Salem Friends Meeting, the former Salem Peace Fellowship, and the Salem Historical Society. Active with the Salem African American History Committee.
Moved to Copeland Oaks Retirement Community, Sebring, OH in 2000 with sister Mary Alice Alexander. Moved, 2011, to Cincinnati, OH to be closer to daughter. Lived at Twin Towers Senior Living Community until her death, June 10, 2020.
