Obituary

Margaret Pauline "Margie" (Bowden) Gori 92, of Columbiana, Ohio, died peacefully at 7:53 PM Monday, June 10th 2024, at her home.

She was born on March 25, 1932, in Youngstown, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Homer H. and Stella F. (Cox) Bowden.

Margie assisted in the operation with her husband of their family businesses, The former 21st Century Mfg, Hobby Truckers and the New Springfield Furniture Co. She had also owned and operated Madison Square Restaurant in Leetonia, Ohio.

In her younger years she was involved in her children's school functions. She was in a bowling and pool league and enjoyed playing cards in card clubs with friends. Margie and Ray loved dancing at Idora Park Ballroom. She was a member of Eastern Star and ABWA of Youngstown and a TOPS group in the Leetonia area to name a few.

Margie and Ray loved traveling in their motor home and entertaining in their homes prior to Ray's passing in 1997. After that she became a snowbird in Bonita Springs, Florida where she was involved in organizing a 500 bid and 31 card night. She started and organized a Friday Solo's lunch. She participated in Beach Birds singing group and traveled to sing in nursing homes. She would engage in the talent show in the park and help with dinners when needed. She rode her 3 wheel bike to visit people and her favorite time was 5 O'Clock with her "Happy Hour" group.

She is survived by her children; Raymond E. (Betty) Gori JR of Leetonia, Gail Marie (Jack) Patrick of Canfield, and Raema Lynn Gori of Columbiana, with whom she resided with, her six grandchildren, who knew her as "Daga"; Shannon and Willy Ray Larson, Billy and Justin Baker, Miranda Clay, and Christina Brown, and her twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on July 9, 1997, by her husband, of nearly 47 years, the love of her life, Raymond Edward Gori SR, whom she married on October 14, 1950, and a sister Donna Jean Fiscus.

A graveside service will be held on June 21, 2024, 11 AM at Oakdale Cemetery in Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, of which Margie was a member, will be officiating.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service in Florida at a later date.

The family has requested that donations be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Brick Fund) 29 Spruce St. POB 167 Leetonia, Ohio 44431-0167.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
