Obituary

Fred and Margaret, reunited now and forever. Margaret M. (Trewetz) Sweitzer 90, of Salem, died at 8 PM Thursday at Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 22, 1925 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late Daniel and Winifred May (Holwick) Trewetz. She was a lifetime resident of the area, and was last employed as a book keeper at the Schwartz's Department Store in Salem. She was a very active member of the Salem First United Methodist Church where she was in the Choir, served as Treasurer of the ladies group, was the first to be on the new garden committee, served at the funeral and other church dinners. She was involved in a herb society at the Smucker House and the Salem Music Club. She is survived by her children, Patty J. (David J. ) Edling and Richard C. (Terri A.) Sweitzer all of Salem, her loving grandchildren, David A. and Peggy Edling of Columbus, Roger Edling of Lantana, Fla., Christine A. and David Milheim of Columbus, Susan E. and Todd Frank of Elmhurst, Ill., Eric R. and Sue Sweitzer of Chardon, her great grandchildren, Alexandra, Mitchell and Claire Milheim, Jared and Tyler Frank, Noah and Mia Sweitzer and Max Edling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Frederick S. Sweitzer whom she married on September 29, 1943 and who died on May 17, 2004, a daughter, Peggy Jo Anne Sweitzer in 1962, and a step brother Bo Harris. A time of visitation from 12 noon to 1 PM on Monday in the parlor of the Salem First United Methodist Church. The family is requesting a closed private family funeral service officiated by Pastor P. Doug George of the church. The burial will be Monday afternoon where Fred and Margaret will be reunited again, forever in Hope Cemetery. The family has requested that donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley 1120 Village Plaza, Columbiana, Ohio 44408 or the New garden fund at the Salem First United Methodist Church 244 S. Broadway Avenue, Salem, Ohio 44460.
