Obituary

"Roy and Martha, Reunited again, may they rest in peace together." Martha Jean (Vickers) Booth 81, of Salem, died at 9:45 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2015 with her son Robert and Grandson Michael Booth at her side, at Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 2, 1933 in Salem, the daughter of the late Robert and Ella (Klose) Vickers. In her younger years, she was a crossing guard, delivered papers and worked at the china company. The largest part of her life was being a home maker and raising the family. She had attended the First Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Robert A. (Mary) Booth of Salem, Catherine L. Booth of L.A., Calif, Linda S. (Patrick) Mellish of Salem, Jeanne A. Booth of Tehachapi, Calif., William P. (Beth) Booth of Massillion, and Jenny L. (Gary) Sweeney of Hanoverton, 8 grandchildren and 6 great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on November 2, 2004, by her husband, Leroy " Roy" Arthur Booth Jr. whom she married on November 18, 1950, a brother Robert Vickers. A private burial will take place in Hope Cemetery.
