Obituary

Martha J. (Stryffeler) Burbick 73, of Salem, passed away on Friday, October 12, at her home.
She was born on September 8, 1945, in Alliance, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Berger) Stryffeler.
Martha worked at various banks in the area and retired as a teller from Charter One Bank after 30 years. She was a graduate of West Branch High School, a member of the North Georgetown Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Salem Eagles and Salem Italian-American Club. Martha was a lover of nature. She had a passion for working on her blueberry farm. She never met a stranger on the farm and built many friendships with those who came to pick blueberries. Martha also had a love for cats. Over the years, she rescued several cats giving them a long and happy life. She often visited Noah's Lost Ark and sponsored several big cats at the sanctuary. Martha loved her grandchildren and always enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harold Burbick, whom she married on November 27, 1965 and who died on October 26, 1996, and her brother Olin Stryffeler.
She is survived by her children, Christopher (Sarah) Burbick of Longview, TX, Lisa (Roger) Grywalski of Plain City, OH; her grandchildren, Benjamin Grywalski, Clair Grywalski, Austin Tozzi, Landon Burbick; her sister Joyce (Ed) Glista of Salem and dear friend, Stephen Guappone of Salem.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 11 am at the North Georgetown Emmanuel Lutheran Church (27485 Main Street, N. Georgetown, Oh 44665) with Pastor Robert Sanders officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, from 6-8 pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services and from 10-11 am on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at the North Georgetown Cemetery, N. Georgetown, OH.
