Martha Ann (Tennant) Stephen, 85, of Salem, passed away at 3:14 PM on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Mercy Health /St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, following injuries from an automobile accident that morning.

She was born October 8, 1938, in Morgantown, W.Va., the daughter of the late Fred and Maude (Riffle) Tennant.

Martha always seemed to keep busy, morning coffee group at McDonalds, church group socials, bargain hunting/thrifting, cooking/baking, dancing and bowling. There was a time years ago that she was an avid bingo player. She had a strong devotion to God and attended the Salem First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children; Donna Marie (Christopher) Wack of Canfield, Sonya Ann (Gerald) McCracken of Alliance, Toynette (Bert) Knepper of Homeworth, and Wendie Lea (Chuck) Hill of Kensington and Darthella Sallaz of N. Jackson who was like a sister to her, twelve grandchildren; Kelly (Gordy) McDevitt, Kyle (Valerie) Wack, Katie (Jason) Miller, Tim (Savannah) McCracken, Andy McCracken, Mikey (Beau) Keller, Ben (Ashlee) Heverly, Bailey (Andy) Parks, Rayne (Matt Ainsworth) Hill, Mazie (Miranda) Dare, Willow (Gage) Von Wyl, and Laney (Andy Caldwell) Hill, and grand daughter-in-law Tiffani Heverly, and twenty-seven great grandchildren and her first great-great grandchild is due in September.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Donitzen, who she married on July 20, 1957 and he passed away on November 11, 1967 and on April 16, 2015, by her second husband of 45 years, William C. Stephen, whom she married on January 28, 1970, a grandson Donny Heverly in 2022, son-in-law Ray Heverly in 2016

A Celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, 10:30 AM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The Pastor Rick Brendlinger will be officiating the services. The entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Beloit, Ohio. A time of visitation will be on Monday from 5-7 PM and on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the funeral home.
