Mary Lucile (Hofecker) Alter 96, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 7:10 pm at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, OH. She was born on October 1, 1919 in Bolivar PA, the daughter of the late Leonard John and Emma (Miller) Hofecker. Mary was a loving daughter, wife and mother. Mary worked as an assembler in the North American Aviation Co., in Anaheim, CA. She was a member of the Bolivar Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1993, by her husband, Ernest William Alter, 17 siblings, and her daughter, Shirley Jean Alter. She is survived by her son, James Howard (Ruby) Alter of Salem OH, 7 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. There will be no service held. Burial will be in Fairfield, PA. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Salem.
