IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Christina
(Kleinman) Henley
June 6, 1939 – January 11, 2023
Mary Christina (Kleinman) Henley, 83, of Salem, died at 2:25 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Auburn Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Salem.
She was born June 6, 1939, in Salem, daughter of the late Dennis and Isabelle (Englert) Kleinman.
Mary returned to this area in 1993, from Conneaut, Ohio. She had worked in various industries over her life. She will be most notably remembered by her flower shop, Silk Creations in N. Lima and her craft consignment shop, Mary's Village Traditions in Columbiana. Her last shop allowed for her to sell her jewelery, bracelets and creations of others to sell.
It really did not matter what Mary was doing in life, she was all about being with the people and getting a good laugh or a wonderful smile. There was a group of her friends who would gather and play cards over the years. She also spent time with her mother helping her for a day and then several days of good card playing. Her true passion in life was bargain hunting. The garage and yard sales were favorite places to go and anywhere else, as long as a good deal could be found. She and John even volunteered at a thrift shop just west of Alliance.
Her motherly instincts were there to bake cookies with her daughters, make soup, and be a hostess for her guests for meals. There was the quiet side of her when she read her numerous books and worked her jig saw puzzles.
Mary leaves behind her husband of 50 years, John David Henley, whom she married April 15, 1972, children; Kristina Henley of Columbus, Lorina (Daniel) Moffett of Salem, David (Susan) Henley of Austintown, and Roberta Bell of Boardman, siblings; Coletta (Chuck) Sheddon of Columbus and Teresa (Jonnie) Patrick of Salem, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Richard "Mutt" Kleinman, Dennis Kleinman, and James Kleinman, and her sisters; Isabelle Cibula and Donna Kleinman.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 3 PM, Sunday at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem. A time of visitation at the funeral home will be one hour prior to the service.
The family has asked that any memorial contributions be made to Auburn Nursing and Rehab. 451 Valley Road, Salem, Ohio 44460 or Ohio Living Hospice 6715 Tippecanoe Road (E) (Suite 201) Canfield, Ohio 44406.
