Obituary

Michelle Ann (Lewis) Long 50, of Butler Twp., Salem, died Wednesday evening, November 29, 2023, at her home.

She was born on August 17, 1973, in Salem, the daughter of Karen Lynn (Hill) Lewis and the late Richard Harold Lewis.

Michelle was a lifetime area resident and member of Believers Christian Fellowship in Salem. She graduated from United Local High School in 1991 and went on to further her education receiving a Master's Degree from Kent State University in 2018.

Michelle taught at Leetonia HS for 9 years, teaching math, STEM, and industry as well as coaching track and Robotics.  She was actively involved in Boy Scouts with her children, obtaining the title of Advancement Coordinator for Troop #6.  As a parent Michelle rarely missed an opportunity to join her son's and the troop during winter camping trips, becoming lovingly known as the "Ice Princess".  Michelle was involved in 4-H when she was younger and continued this tradition with her children.  Michelle enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was always someone you could count on.  Her smile and way of lighting up the room will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her two sons: William Patrick (Yuliia Bondarenko) Long III and Brandon Kyle Long all of Salem, a sister, Sara J. Lewis of Canfield, and Michelle's companion Eric Swiger.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son Jacob Ryan Long, grandparents; Sanford Jay Hill, Lois Jean (Tingle) Hill and Mabel E. Lewis.

Services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, 7 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church( 29 Spruce St., Leetonia, Oh 44431) The Rev. Robert Rowley of Believers Christian Fellowship will be officiating. A time of visitation from 1 to 3 PM and from 5 to 7 PM Friday at the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.

In leu of flowers donations can be made to Boy Scouts troop #6 ( C/O Emm. Luth. Ch. 251 S. Broadway Ave., Salem, Oh 44460) or Leetonia HS Robotics program 450 Walnut St., Leetonia, Oh 44431

We are working close with Leetonia School System as well as Supt. Dennis Dunham.  They will have staff at the church for the students.  The school will be assisting in getting out permission slips and provide transportation for the early calling hours.
