Obituary

Norma Jean (Spears) Bauman 83, of Sebring, formerly of Damascus, died at 12:25 AM Sunday at Copeland Oaks Retirement Community. She was born on March 16, 1931 in Paintsville, Ky., the daughter of the late Crate and Nettie (Gullett) Spears. She has been a resident at Copeland Oaks for the last 3 years, before coming to Sebring, she resided in Paintsville, Ky., Cleveland, Leetonia and Damascus. She was a 1949 Graduate of Leetonia High School, a member of the Damascus Methodist Church and she last worked as a clerk at the Corner Market in Damascus until the late 90's. She is survived by her son William L. (Rhonda) Bauman of Salem, daughter-in-law Belinda Bauman of Damascus, siblings, Loretta Dotson of NC, Shirley Adams of Salem and Crate Spears Jr of MD.,sister-in-law Barbara Spears of NC. and Fla., five grandchildren, Joshua (Stephonia) Bauman, Kayla Gayle (Justin) Hite, Andrew Herbert Bauman, Bergen Lee Bauman and Brinley Ann Bauman and Three great grandchildren, Josiah Wyatt bauman, Eden Bauman and Alyssa Bauman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Bauman Jr, a son David J. Bauman, siblings Jack, Clarence, Joseph and Hermalee Spears. Services will be on Friday, 11 AM at the Damascus Methodist Church with the Rev Bob Amey officiating. The burial will be in the Damascus Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Donations can be made to the Memorial fund of the church or to Hospice of the Valley.
