Norma Lynn (Lanham) Lloyd

March 2, 1945 – May 24, 2026

SALEM, OH — Norma Lynn (Lanham) Lloyd, a woman whose heart knew no boundaries and whose life was a masterclass in compassion, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 6:33 PM in the emergency room of Salem Regional Medical Center. She was 81 years old.

Born on March 2, 1945, in the quiet hills of Buckhannon, West Virginia, Norma was the cherished daughter of the late Ivan and Ida Jane (Beckner) Lanham. From her roots in West Virginia, she carried with her a warmth and a fierce sense of community that she shared with everyone she met, a bond she proudly maintained through her lifelong membership with the Moose Lodge.

Norma was a caregiver by occupation, but more importantly, she was a caregiver by heart. Her hands were rarely still, and her spirit was always giving. Whether she was carefully sewing a tear, finding beauty in the forgotten treasures at local thrift shops and garage sales, or simply offering a listening ear, Norma lived to nurture others. She possessed the rare gift of seeing value in things—and people—that others might pass by.

When she wasn't looking after those she loved, Norma found simple joys in the world around her. She was a master of crossword puzzles, an avid bingo player, and she found endless entertainment in the thrill of wrestling matches and the familiar comfort of evening game shows.

Norma has been reunited with her beloved parents and her devoted husband, Charles Lloyd, who preceded her in death.

Her enduring legacy of unconditional love lives on through her family. She is survived by her son, Donald (Eileen) Steed of Salem, her cherished granddaughter, Cheyanne Doskocil, alongside three additional grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom grew up wrapped in the warmth of her affection and will forever carry her stories in their hearts.

Norma’s life was not measured in years, but in the quiet, profound moments of kindness she left behind. She gave entirely of herself to this world, and while her absence leaves a deep stillness, her love remains an unbreakable thread woven into the lives of those she leaves behind.
