Patricia Celia
Burns
Dec 22, 1964 — Aug 26, 2026
Salem
Patricia Celia (Hagens) Burns, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at Akron City Hospital on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the age of sixty-one. Born in Maryland on December 22, 1964, she was the beloved daughter of the late William M. Hagens Jr. and Hazel (Rochester) Hagens. Patricia brought a steady, caring presence to everyone around her, whether she was helping patients as an LPN at Essex and other healthcare facilities or guiding her team with dedication as a General Manager at Dollar Tree.
Beyond her work, Patricia lived a vibrant life filled with simple pleasures and deep connections. She found joy in the quiet challenge of crossword puzzles, the beauty of nature and gardening, creative crafts, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. She loved supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events and recently cherished a wonderful, memorable trip to Hawaii. Above all else, her grandchildren were her absolute greatest joy in life, and her face always lit up with love when talking about them.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Michael Burns, whom she lost in 2023. She leaves behind a family who will forever hold her memory close: her devoted daughters, Devon (Dustin) Brown and Kelsi (Gabriel) Hare; a very close family friend, Minny; her loving sisters, Alice (Wayne) Pinkerton and Helena Pellish; her sisters-in-law, Mary Perorazio, Joyce Stein, and Linda Burns; and her brother-in-law, Bob (Louise) Burns. Her legacy of love lives on through her adored grandchildren, Lauryn Barton, Gray Brown, and Lincoln Hare, who brought endless happiness to her days.
In honoring Patricia's wishes, no services are planned at this time. Though she has left this world, the warmth of her smile, the kindness in her heart, and the gentle grace she shared with everyone will remain a comforting presence in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
