Patrick J. Shoemaker 85, of Salem, died at 3:02 am Saturday, January 26 at his home.

He was born on January 24, 1934 in Danville, PA, the son of the late Raymond and Mary (Griffin) Shoemaker.

He retired from trucking about 20 years ago. He had served in the US Army. Pat was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and a very active member of Salem St. Paul's Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed puttering around in the garage, woodworking, building things, painting cars, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Ann Johnson whom he married on January 2, 1960, their children, Leanna Wutrick of Beloit, Diana (Mike ) Mahouski and Patrick "Joe" (Jane) Shoemaker both of Salem, seven grandchildren: Elizabeth (Ty) Roose, Jennifer (Seth) Russell, Cory (Melissa) Wutrick, Tyler (Steffany) Wutrick, Nicole (Rod Robinson) Cleland, Michael (Marissah) Mahouski, and PJ (Brooke) Shoemaker, fourteen great grandchildren, siblings, Dorothy Martz, Berry Longenberger, David and Stephen Shoemaker, Sharon Gibbons, Barb Gearinger and Beth Rodney and close friends, Rose and Gary Metzger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by fifteen siblings.
