Obituary

Paul Ray "Chip" Champney 45, of East Palestine,( formerly of Leetonia ) died Wednesday, May 29 at his home.

He was born on September 5, 1973 in East Liverpool, Oh., the son of Durand Peter and Joyce Ann (Congo) Champney.

He was currently working for E. J. Bognar Inc. in East Palestine, formerly in Darlington, and was a self employed carpenter/contractor. He formerly worked for the Columbiana County Road Crew and a former foreman for McMasters Farms.

He was a graduate from Leetonia High School, participated in basketball, football and track. Chip attended the First Church of Christ in East Palestine and Pathway Church in Chippewa. He was a former basketball and soccer coach on his children's teams. He enjoyed the outdoors and running the dirt bike, skateboarding, outdoor walks, camping, swimming, participated in marathon runs and a very good game of golf. He also loved to spend time with his daughters. Chip like challenges from construction to He-man competitions.

In addition to his parents of Leetonia, he is survived by his daughters Patience and Rose Champney of East Palestine, siblings, Elaine (David) Born of Newark, OH, Timothy (Amy) Miller of ME, Annette (Jeff) Edison of NC, Dwaynne (Sunshine) Champney of Salem, Cindi (Bill) Moses of PA, Dale Miller of Calcutta, OH, Pete (Debbie) Miller of MS, Penny (George) Scott of NE, and Delbert "Bud" Miller of WV, numerous nieces and nephews and his best caring friend Kristen Dyke of East Palestine.
