Peggy August 72, (aka Margaret Marie (Overholt) August) of Salem, died at 6:37 AM Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Alliance Community Hospital after becoming ill at home. She was born on August 28, 1943 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Irvin Paul and Margaret Cecelia (Kirkbride) Overholt. She was a loving mother and loved her children and grandchildren. Peggy got involved in Girl Scouts at a younger age and has served over 50 years and worked with the Memory Hall. A member of the OST (Order Silver Trefoil) and Archival Group in the scouts. She kept busy over the years in the schools as their children grew up in the various groups. A long time poll worker at the Goshen Township Hall, and in her spare time she liked to go shopping, and spending time with the grandchildren. Peggy loved her family and always loved to play games over the years. She and her husband were 1961 Graduates of Salem High School and then she also completed some Business classes after high school. She attended the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Keith T. August, whom she married on May 8, 1965, their four children, Pastor Kevin R. (Laura) August of Portage, In., Karen S. Suggett of Salem, Kurtis S. (Amy) August of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Kimberly M. Bandy of Canton, six grandchildren, Kyle (Stephanie) August, Alyssa August, Jeff August, Charles Suggett, Devin Bandy and Ashley Bandy, and one great grand child Tiana Mitchell. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, 1:30 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. Her Son, Pastor Kevin R. August will be officiating the services with the burial to immediately follow in Hope Cemetery. A time of visitation will be on Tuesday, 1 to 3 PM and from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and 12:30 to 1:30 PM Wednesday. The family has requested that donations be directed to what Peggy enjoyed doing: Girl Scout NE Ohio, Attn: Memory Hall, 1010 Applegrove St NW, Canton, Ohio 44720
