He was born on December 29, 1934 in Flemington, W.Va., the son of the late Gerald Lake and Alberta (Whitehair) Lake Exline. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. and served during the Korean War. He had been a welder at Eljers and Quaker City Castings in their maintenance Dept. Ralph attended the Phillips Christian Church when his health allowed it. He had a major passion on restoring antique cars but most of all loved his family. He is survived by his children, Lanney (Adele) Lake of Hanoverton, Linda Lake of Salem, Debbie Lake of Hanoverton, Rickey Lake of Garner, NC., and Robert (Tammy) Lake of East Rochester, half sister, Kathy Stevens of Poplarville, Miss, and a half brother, Dannie Exline of Tiffin, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Violet May Clark whom he married on January 27, 1955 and who died on July 2, 1994 and a grandson Colton Koons. A Celebration of life Service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The Rev. Robert Laughlin will be officiating the services with the Salem Honor Guard providing military honors at Hope Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
