Obituary

Richard Oscar Clay 83, of Perry Township, Salem died Tuesday afternoon at his home. He was born on July 31, 1929 in Green Township, Mahoning County, Ohio to the late Oscar and Dorothy (Schaal) Clay. He was a brick mason with the Brick Layers Union # 8 and a member of the Corvette Club. He is survived by his children, Susan Frederburg of Arlington, Va., Nancy (Husband Donald) Chace of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Gerald (Wife Sandra) Clay of Homeworth; siblings, Roger (Wife Sharon) Clay of Salem and Karen Conrad of Alliance; the grandchildren, Laurie Paz, Sean and Lindsay Frederburg and Jessica Chace; the great grandchildren, Ben, Ethan and Gracie Paz. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Louise Meier on July 30, 2009, a son Richard Clay, and a sister Jean Taylor. Services will be held on Saturday, 3 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Home, Salem, The Rev. Louis Raymond officiating. The burial will follow in Damascus Cemetery.
