He was born on February 5, 1940 in Salem, OH, the son of the late Howard Wayne and Ruth Eleanor (Binsley) Heston.

Dick was a lifetime resident of Salem who traveled the world for his work. He retired in 2005 as the Vice President of Sales from the Electric Furnace Company, having served 42 years. Dick had many interests which included reading, photography, and home improvement. He always enjoyed working on his cars, washing, polishing and maintaining them. Dick was a member of the Salem Hunting Club, a fan of OSU football and the Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Ann (Bill Carberg) Heston of NC, his nieces and nephew; Andrea (Will) Leland of Hudson, OH, Lisa (Alper) Coskun of Powell, OH, Nikki Sanders of Knoxville, TN, Sean (Christina) Sanders of San Diego, CA, great-nieces and nephews; Claire, James, Lale, Nora, Joshua, Parker, Luke, and Ryan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Linda Sue Sanders and David Lawrence Heston.
