Robert Allen Hahlen, 83, passed away on Saturday evening, February 12, 2022, at his home in Salem, OH.

He was born on June 10, 1938, in E. Rochester, OH, to his late parents; Frederick and Helen (Sanor) Hahlen.

Robert attended Bunker Hill School in New Alexander, OH until its closing and completed his schooling and having then graduated from Minerva High School in Minerva, OH. Robert was a member of the United States Air Force. Having enlisted following his graduation from high school. Being in the service allowed Robert the opportunity to attend 2 years of college. He was a 20 year veteran of the Air Force and most likely where he got his fondness for watching fireworks every 4th of July or whenever there was opportunity. Following his time in the military, he worked in the Maintenance Department at Salem Regional Medical Hospital for an additional 20 years. In 1963, at the age of 25, he married his June bride; Jacqueline Yolanda (Mazerolle) Hahlen. They celebrated over 58 years of marriage, devoting their lives and raising their children together. Robert was a member of the New Alexander Christian Church. He enjoyed working in the yard and relaxing on the porch watching the birds. Tinkering with wood and working on his many projects gave him much enjoyment. He was a favorite of the neighborhood children. It would have been safe to say that they enjoyed spending time with him almost as much as he enjoyed spending time with them. Robert and Jacqueline liked to travel. Some of those travels took them to Japan and Panama. For a time, they made their home in South Carolina. Robert had a life well lived. He was most certainly loved and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his children; Tom (Tonya Young) Hahlen of Greenwood, SC, Sonia (Darreck) Ferrell of Hanoverton, OH, Todd (Emma) Hahlen of Green, OH, 7 grandchildren; Codee and Bryan Hahlen, Steven, Joshua and Nathan Centofanti, Braden and Micaila Hahlen and 5 great grandchildren; Jaydin, Kaylynn, Kaylee, Dominic and Damien Centofanti  and his brother; Don Hahlen of Salem.

Robert is preceded in death by his sisters; Doris Mountz, Margery Saeger, and one grand child; Kendrick Hahlen.

Services to be announced at a later date at the New Alexander Christian Church with military honors.
