Rev. Robert F. Richardson 85, of Salem, went home to be with Jesus on Monday morning at 12:05 AM from the Hospice House in Poland. He had been moved there just 10 hours prior to his passing from his home. He was born on June 1, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, Pa. to the late Clair and Daisy (Swain) Richardson. Bob has lived many places in his life from his home to Pittsburgh, then E. Liverpool, Woodsdale Road and now E. Third Street in Salem. He met Alma as he was filling in for a pastor at the White Rabbit Free Methodist Church in W. Brownsvills, Pa. He was the former pastor of the Belle Vernon and Sunnyside Free Methodist Churchs. He has worked at various places over the years, such as the Heinz Corporation, Crucible Steel Plant, Delivering Bread in E. Liverpool, Sterling Trailor mfg., and lastly an orderly at Salem Community Hospital for 19 years and retired in 1992. He was also an associate member of the Salem Bible Methodist Church and a minister under the Free Methodist Denomination. He graduated the Roberts Wesleyan Junior College He is survived by his wife, the former Alma R. Fowler whom he married on March 24, 1951, a daughter, Janet (husband Sam) Campbell of St. Louis, Mo., a sister Florena Fuller of E. Liverpool, Ohio, two grandchildren, Aaron (wife Julianne) and Jeremy (wife Heather) Campbell and three great grandchildren, Lillian, Sophia and Natalie. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Wilbur and Lee Richardson, and two sisters, infant Helen and Eleanor Fellows. Services will be held on Thursday, 1:30 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Home with the Pastor Henry Miller of the church officiating. The burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM and on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Donations can be made to the Salem Bible Methodist Church.
