Robert J. Stadler, 92, of Salem, died at 10:30 AM Thursday at Salem Community Hospital. He was born September 26, 1919, in Chesterland, Ohio a son of the late Willouis and Edith (Gierke) Stadler. He lived in the area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Salem. He was a machinist with Miller Holtzworth for 31 years. He was married to Margaret L. (Howson) Stadler, May 30, 1942, who preceded him in death on December 16, 1997.He is survived by his 2 sons; John L. (Alanna) Stadler of Summerville, South Carolina and Richard H. Stadler of Uniontown, Ohio, and 2 grandchildren and two cousins. Besides his wife he was also preceded in death by two sisters.Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Highland Memorial Park Chapel with Rev. Bruce Irwin officiating, burial to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Public Library. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until service at the chapel. Arrangements were in the care of Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home.
