Rev. Robert O'Neil Vermilyea 93, of McClure, Pa., (Formerly of the Salem Area) died at 6 AM Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at the home of his daughters.

He was born on April 29, 1926, in Dayton, Oh., the son of the late Wright and Manelvia Alice (Taylor) Vermilyea.

He was a minister and faithfully served in S. Zanesville, OH.; Mt. Vernon, OH, Mitchell, SD.; Watford City, ND.; Dayton, OH.; Mission Field, Haiti; Finley, OH.; Greenwood, PA.; Ashville, NY.; and Struthers, OH.

Survived by his daughters; Linda (Gordon) Kincaid of McClure, PA., Roberta (David) Miller of Thomasville, NC., sister Mary Cornelli of Dayton, grandchildren; Julia, Sylvia, and Lydia Miller, Nathaniel (Melanie) Kincaid and Jonathan (Amber) Kincaid; great-grandchildren; Naisa, Grayson, Josiah, Hadley, and Elias Kincaid.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna (Baldwin) Vermilyea on October 21, 2012, granddaughter Patricia (Brent) Bigger; great-grandchildren; Caroline and Anthony Bigger, brothers Paul and Gerald.

Services will be on Saturday, at 2 pm at the Salem Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church. The Rev. Stanley Grabill will be officiating and burial to follow in Damascus, Ohio. A time of visitation will be from Noon to 2 pm at the church. Donations can be made to the Gideons.
