IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roger Alan
Lippiatt
June 24, 1942 – January 21, 2024
Roger Alan Lippiatt, son of Roy and Eleanor (Headland) Lippiatt, went Home to be with the Lord and his family who had preceeded him on Sunday, January 21. He passed at home; just like he wished.
Roger was born in Salem and grew up on Egypt Road. He was a 1960 graduate of Greenford High School. It was there that he met the love of his life, Nancy Jean Miller. They were inseparable, and when she graduated from college in 1966 they were married. They spent 57 wonderful years together traveling the world and enjoying each others company.
Roger spent many of his working years at NRM in Leetonia. He later worked for the Salem Parks and Recreation Department.
In addition to traveling, Roger really enjoyed dirt bikes. His dad had a Hodaka shop back in the day, and Roger was a genius when it came to working on them. He was being contacted by people to work on their bikes right up until he had to have surgery. It was known by everyone that he was a perfectionist and the job would be better than well-done.
Roger enjoyed attending Hodaka Days in Athena, Ore., and activities at Mid Ohio. He would meet up with his buddies and have a grand ol' time.
Roger knew a lot of people and will be missed by many, but none more than his wife Nancy. He will also be missed by his sister, Debra (Donald) Douty, sister-in-law Patty Lippiatt, nephew Wayne (Barb) Lippiatt, Niece Kristin Douty, Niece Chelsie (Spike) Sauerwein, great-nephews: Joe Lippiatt, Jesse Lippiatt and Chase Douty, great nieces: Paige Newbold, Piper and Tessa Sauerwein, Great-great nephews: Bryson and Wyatt Lippiatt. He is additionally survived by nephews: Dr. Richard Miller, Dan Miller, Randy Miller and nieces; Terry Kirkup, Jane Sevacko and Christine Laney.
Roger was preceded in death by his brother Don in 1960, mother Eleanor in 1968, father Roy in 1994, niece Jo Ann Miller in 2017, brother Larry in 2023, and his best four-legged friend, that he loved so dearly, Scruffy.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, 11:30 AM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. Their Pastor, Josh White from the East Goshen Friends Church will be officiating. A time of gathering and visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rogers' memory to a group/charity of the donor's choice.
