Ruth O. (Wolfe) McCoy 98, passed away at 7:35 AM on Sunday February 23, 2025, at Mulberry Gardens Memory Care, Monroe Falls.

Ruth was born on April 18, 1926, in Butler, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Jesse and Annie (Beilstein) Wolfe.

Ruth married Paul McCoy on June 20, 1946, they were residents of Salem, Ohio for more than 50 years. Paul and Ruth were active in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Salem, the Elks Lodge of Salem, and volunteered at the Welcome Wagon, Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts, many elementary school events and other events in Salem. They traveled to antique car flea markets throughout the United States, vacationed in Florida, and frequently visited their children in Kentucky and Texas.  Their favorite vacations were cruising in the Caribbean with their entire family.

Important to both Ruth and Paul was God, family, and friends.  Ruth was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia in 2018 and moved into Mulberry early 2019.  She may have forgotten friends and family, but she always remembered God and frequently sang religious songs to the Mulberry staff.

Ruth is survived by her children Nancy (Dave) Woodson of Waller, Texas and Donald (Brenda) McCoy of Stow, Ohio, her grandchildren, Matthew W.  McCoy, Megan K. McCoy both of Stow, OH, and many nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death on February 21, 2016, by her husband Paul, her sisters Helen Taggart, Myrtle Sarvey, Florence Yost, and baby sister Margaret Wolfe.

Ruth requested no calling hours or visitations.  A private service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Butler, PA. where Ruth was baptized, confirmed, and married.  Ruth will be buried next to Paul in Mercer, PA.
