Samuel David Starkey 69, of Lisbon, passed away at 11:55 AM on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Continuing Healthcare of Lisbon.

He was born September 24, 1956, in Canton, the son of the late Norman and Ora Jean (Thomas) Starkey Sr.

Samuel lived in Hanoverton most of his life, before moving to Lisbon. He worked at an autobody shop in Minerva as a mechanic. Samuel loved spending his free time exploring and buying unique "finds" at swap meets in and around the area. He was an outgoing personable guy and everyone he met was treated as a friend, Samuel was always there to help, no questions asked.

He is survived by his sisters; Cindy Starkey-Pitts of Sebring and Dorene Starkey-Reynolds of Lisbon, his nieces and nephews; Tina, Laura "Sis", James Michael Abel, Stephanie (Jason) Blazer, Chris (Sarah) Pitts, Jamie Lynn (Rober Cross) Pitts, Melinda Reynolds, and Debbie Morrison, and will be dearly missed by his great nieces and nephews and his great great nephew.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Edward Starkey and sister Diane Abel.

The family plans to have a celebration of life service at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
