Don and Sara are as one now ! Sara (Harris) Bennett 96, of Salem, formerly of Green Township, died at 6:30 PM Friday at the Courtyard on Lexington Avenue, Salem. She was born on April 20, 1917 in Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of the late J. Holbert and Caroline (Maust) Harris. She has been a resident of the area for over 80 years, coming from her home in Fayette County. She worked with her husband at the familys own greenhouse, Bennetts Greenhouse in Greenford, a 1935 Graduate of the Greenford High School, a 4H advisor for 50 years of the Greenford Busy Bees, a member of the South Range Hall of Fame for Basketball, served on the Green Township Volunteer Fire Department Aux., and oldest member of the Greenford Christian Church. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, vacationing in Canada and Florida, Saturday night cards with special friends, and the Gravel Gertie Club She is survived by her children, Kay D.(Alex) Mariotti of Canfield and Larry J. (Kathy) Bennett of Salem, her 5 grand and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Bennett, brothers James W and Wilbur "Bill" G. Harris, sister Jessie Greer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday at 7 Pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sone Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem, with the Pastor John Bush of the church officiating. The private burial will be in Washingtonville Cemetery Tuesday. There will be a time of visitation from 5 - 7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Please make donations to the Greenford Christian Church.
