Seymour
Wyatt JR
May 4, 1942 – March 20, 2026
Seymour Wyatt Jr. was a man whose life was defined by a quiet, steady strength and a heart that belonged entirely to his family. Born in the rolling hills of Philippi, West Virginia, to the late Seymour and Ruby Wyatt Sr., he carried the resilient, hardworking spirit of his Appalachian roots with him throughout his entire journey. On Friday, March 20, 2026, Seymour took his final rest at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy as vast and vibrant as the family tree he so carefully nurtured.
A proud patriot, Seymour’s journey of service began in the United States Army, where he served with honor from February 1962 to January 1965. The discipline and dedication he gained in the military remained a cornerstone of his character throughout his professional life. Whether he was connecting with neighbors as a salesperson at Sears, mastering the technical precision required as a machinist at NRM, or providing a watchful eye in his security work, Seymour approached every task with a steady hand and a committed heart.
The true cornerstone of Seymour’s life began on March 12, 1966, when he married the love of his life, Audrey Arlene (Edgerton) Wyatt. Over sixty years of marriage, they built a life rooted in companionship and simple joys, finding contentment in quiet walks together and the steady rhythm of their shared seasons. Seymour was happiest when he was outdoors, finding peace with a fishing pole in his hand or the quiet stillness of the woods while on a hunt. He also found great enjoyment in the excitement of the casino, the nostalgia of a classic movie, and the timeless melodies of oldies music that played through many of his favorite memories.
While his passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, his spirit lives on through the incredible lineage he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, his daughters; Andrea (Richard) Stryker of Irondale and Karen (Andrew) Sims of Joplin, Missouri, his brother Gary (Audrey) Wyatt of Boardman, eight grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, his sister-in-law Loretta Wyatt of Medina, one niece, and many nephews. He now joins his parents, 3 siblings, and one beloved grandchild who preceded him in death, surely finding a serene spot in the great beyond.
Friends and family are invited to gather in honor of a life well-lived at 2 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Salem. The afternoon will begin with well-deserved military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard, followed by the memorial service officiated by Pastor Frank Larkin. Seymour’s story was one of service, dedication, and an enduring love that will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who knew him.
