Obituary

Sherry Lynn (Williams) Hooper 65, of Sandy Springs, GA, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 6:42 pm at North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell, GA. Sherry was born on February 2, 1951 in East Liverpool, OH, the daughter of the late Thomas and Janelle (Jackson) Williams. Sherry was a loving mother and grandmother. Sherry was a former long time resident of Salem. She spent a short time in California and lived for the last 5 years in Georgia. She was a graduate from Stanton Local schools and graduated with a BA degree in Education from Kent State University. She was a former bank teller at Bank One. She worked as a paralegal for Attorney Guehl in Salem. Sherry also taught in the Salem City school system then later was a substitute teacher for Salem and West Branch school systems. From 1993-1997, she was the recycling manager in Salem. She last worked as a substitute teacher in Fulton County, GA. Sherry attended the Salem First Friends Church when she was in Salem. Sherry loved to sing and was involved in local church choirs. She was former member of the choir of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church in Salem and was also in the choir of the Roswell United Methodist Church in GA. She was a former active member of the cast of the Salem Community Theater, where she acted, sang, and worked on set designs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on August 8, 2014 by the father of her children, Larry D Hooper, and by her brother, Randall Williams. She is survived by her children, Kristi (David Sanders) Hooper-Trybend, of Salem, OH, and Eric (Stephanie) Hooper of Roswell, GA, her grandchildren, Violet and Naomi Trybend, Madison and Braydon Hooper, and her brother, Terry Williams of Dunwoody, GA Services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 4:00 pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Pete Fowler officiating. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery in Salem. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
