Margaret "Peggy" (Conkle) Smith 72, of Salem, died at her home at 8:20 PM Sunday, November 8, 2015. She was born on October 14, 1943 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles "Pete" and Marion (Jones) Conkle. She was a waitress at the Perkins restaurant, a 1961 graduate of West Branch High School. Peggy enjoyed to cook and bake, a fan of the New England Patriats and NASCAR. A huge collector of Elvis things and loved his music. She dearly loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She is survived by her children, Rex Smith of Douglas, Texas, Roy (Shelly) Smith and Pete (Christine) Smith both of Salem, and Tina (Greg) Christopher of Cincinnati, six grandchildren, R.J. Smith, Amanda Smith (Tom) Christy, Jacob Smith, Zachary Christopher, Megan Christopher and Allison Christopher, siblings, Charles Conkle of Minerva and Eileen (Dick) Wallace of Salem. Preceded in death by Son, Troy Smith, Daughter, Melody Smith, Grandson J.R. Smith and sisters Evelyn Dow and Barbara Hoffman. Services will be held on Wednesday, 11 AM, at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The Pastor Ray Harris will officiate the services with burial in Bunker Hill Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
