Susan Margaret (Pifer) Malinky 56, of Salem, passed away on Monday, October 22 at her home.

She was born on May 10, 1962 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Lamont Arthur and Patricia Ann (Rochford) Pifer. Susan graduated from South Range High School in 1980 and attended KSU Salem for two years in the horticulture program. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sports and music, especially the Grateful Dead. She was a very animated person and loved jokes of all kinds. She is survived by her husband, Thomas, whom she married on July 4, 1996, her daughter Cheyenne Malinky of Mansfield, her siblings, John (Deborah) Pifer of Canfield, Sherry Anderson of Boardman, Richard Pifer of Alliance, James Pifer of New Springfield, Diane Pifer of Youngstown, and Cindy (Robert) Maier of Salem. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Myron Pifer. Private services will be held at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services.
