Theodore G. "Ted" Mounts 77, of Salem, died at 6:20 Pm Monday, August 19, 2013 at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Damascus. Ted was a well known expert in the auctioneering business. He was in the business with his brother Jerry for over 50 years. When he was not out having a sale, you could find him out on the farm on the Goshen road. He was primarily a dairy farmer but did plant pumpkins. They liked their Holstein cows but upon occasions you may have found a Jersey cow in the heard. Ted was a man that knew his cows. The boys grew up in Valley until 1952 when they moved out to the Goshen road. Ted was the oldest of the boys. He was born on August 18, 1936 in Salem at the Hospital, the son of the late Bruce Batzli and Margaret Etta (Culler) Mounts and step-father George Mounts. Ted attended the Georgetown, Valley and then Salem Schools. Ted is survived by his brother Jerry L. and his wife Doris Mounts of Salem. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from noon to 2 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The funeral service will be at 2 Pm with the Rev.
