Obituary

Terry Douglas Rogers, a man whose warmth, humor, and gentle spirit touched everyone he met, passed away peacefully at his home in Salem on June 2, 2026, at the age of 65. Born and raised in Salem, Ohio, Terry spent his life cultivating joy, both in the soil of his beloved gardens and in the hearts of those he loved. He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Stephan S. Rogers and Eileen V. (Stidam) Rogers, as well as his beloved son, Matthew Rogers, and his dear sister, Marilyn Duncan.

Terry’s life was defined by the deep love he shared with his family. On June 5, 2010, he married the love of his life, Angela Marie (Paster) Rogers, and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and companionship at their home in Salem. Terry was a proud and loving father to his son, Jimmy Rogers, who resides in Tennessee with his wife, Ann. He also embraced his role as a stepfather with open arms, leaving wonderful memories with his stepdaughters, Jennifer Chester of Salem and Stephanie Baker of Kent. His legacy of love continues to shine through his three cherished step-grandchildren and one precious step-great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense brightness to his life.

Growing up in a large, lively family, Terry shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his brothers, Stephan Rogers and his wife Georgia of Apopka, Florida, and Gale Rogers and his wife Cora of Hubbard. He also leaves behind his loving sisters, Kathy Holcomb of Salem and Lisa Durbin and her husband Paul of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania.

Those who knew Terry will best remember him through the simple pleasures he loved so much. He was truly at peace in the great outdoors, whether he was waiting for a bite while fishing, tending to his vibrant garden, or busy in the kitchen cooking and canning the fruits of his labor to share with others. Above all, Terry was a genuinely humble man who carried a lifelong spark of mischief and joy. He always had a funny story to tell about his childhood, bringing a smile to anyone lucky enough to listen. His laughter, his kind heart, and his gentle presence will be missed tremendously by all of his family and friends, but the warm memories he left behind will be treasured forever.
