Virginia Carol (Wentz) VanKirk, 74, of New Waterford, passed away at 1:40 a. m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born on March 8, 1947, in Salem, to her late parents; Harry and Mary Lou (Gordon) Wentz.

Virginia married her sweetheart, Clifford VanKirk, at the young age of 18, on July 17, 1965. They shared 56 years cultivating their love, building their family, and growing their lives together. Virginia attended the Methodist Church in E. Fairfield. She was an employee of the U. S. Government within the mail service division. As a Post Master Replacement, she would travel as an interim to local post offices, such as, Rogers, Negley, and West Point, and remain until her assignment was complete and the local Post Master position was filled. Virginia spent many years as a 4-H advisor. She was an avid bowler back in the day and could often be found at the lanes at Arrowhead Bowling in Columbiana. She enjoyed camping and traveling with their 5th wheel camper. But, whether it was with the camper or by car, traveling was something that she looked forward too and did as often as she could. Should you have happened to stop by the house in the afternoons, you might find Virginia enjoying some of her favorite soap operas on the television. She will be dearly missed by friends and family alike, who cherished and loved her most.

In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by her daughter; Regina (Frederick) Unger of New Waterford, son; Clinton (Heather) VanKirk of N. Lima, 4 granddaughters; Ashton (Kevin) Fusselman, Vaughn Unger, Lily VanKirk, Cassie VanKirk, 1 great-grandson; Harrison Fusselman, brother; Keith Wentz of Lisbon.

Along with her parents; she is preceded in death by her brother; Thomas Wentz.

There will be no services.
