"Reunited, now and forever" Wilbur E Blasiman, 85, of Salem, died Friday, December 5, 2014, after a short illness. Wilbur, a lifelong resident of the Salem area, was born August 12, 1929, in Greenford, OH to the late Edward and Elma (Wisler) Blasiman. He graduated from Goshen Union High School in 1947. He married his sweetheart, the late Donna Jean (Weaver), on May 8, 1953. The Blasiman's, their children, their family and their friends happily celebrated the couple's 60th anniversary in May, 2013. Mr. Blasiman was a Korean War Veteran with the US Army from 1951 to 1953. He retired from the AFC Corporation (formally known as American Fire Clay) in Canfield, OH, where he was the Superintendent. Wilbur was a member and a trustee of the Concord Presbyterian Church in Salem, OH. He and Donna were avid Cleveland sports fans, particularly the Indians, and supported West Branch sports. Wilbur will be remembered for his loving care that he gave his wife during her battle with Alzheimer's and for the generous care, kindness and thoughtfulness he gave other family members and friends throughout his life. Survivors include: three sons, Gary Blasiman of Canton, OH, Gerald Blasiman of Salem, OH, and Doug (Beverly) Blasiman of Hudson, MI, six grandchildren, Scott Blasiman of Columbus, OH, Jayme Blasiman of Columbus, OH, Michelle (Christopher) Olsgard of Columbus, OH, Jackie (Jonathan) Dees of Pittsburgh, PA, Eric Blasiman of Napoleon, OH, Craig Blasiman of Hudson, MI and four great grandchildren. Wilbur is also survived by his siblings, Donald (the late, Marjorie) Blasiman, James (Mary) Blasiman, Barbara (Walter) Callahan and Nancy (Thomas) Keating. He will be missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, and his wife, Donna Jean (2013), he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Blasiman and Kenneth Blasiman. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the Concord Presbyterian Church, 10013 S. Salem-Warren Road, Salem, OH. The Rev. Joyce Reynolds will be officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2013, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1617 E. State Street, Salem, OH and on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm, at the Concord Presbyterian Church. The burial will be in Hope Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Concord Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 10013 S. Salem-Warren Road, Salem, OH 44460.
