William James Barnhart 64, of Salem, died at his home Wednesday morning December 20, 2017.

He was born on March 16, 1953 in Akron, Ohio, one of four children of Cyrus D. and Barbara J. (Worrall) Barnhart.

He was last employed at B & J Appliance in Salem. Bill was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan and all the other Cleveland teams. He was a great friend to many and liked to help others in need. Bill was an active community volunteer and helped at the Super Cruise. In his younger years, he was a foster parent to many young children. Bill loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and his friends. He was a person with a set routine, liked watching the TV, drinking his coffee and caring for the dog, Jake.

He is survived by his children, Nicholas Barnhart of IL, Amanda Gutierre and Jessica Barnhart both of FL, Listy Barnhart of New Middletown, OH, and three grandchildren.

There will be no services held per Bill's request.
