He was born on June 17, 1938, in The Hague, Netherlands, the son of the late Ment and Ann (Bialas) Klein.

As a young man in the Netherlands, Willem worked on the canal boats. After moving to the United States, Willem studied and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a truck driver for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Knox United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling and reading. He loved spending time with his family and visiting with friends.

Willem is survived by his wife, the former Ruth J Allmendinger, whom he married on January 25, 1959, his children, Beverly A (Randy) Bell, Carl F (Barbara) Klein, Laura J (Craig) Byers all of Knox PA, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Willem was preceded in death by his brothers, Karl Klein and John Klein.
