William Janowiak, 89, of Salem, died peacefully in his sleep at 3:20 Am Friday, May 22, 2020, at his home due to a Congestive Heart Failure.
He was born on May 10, 1931 in Maryland, the son of the late Joseph Paul and Anne Marie (Yurek) Janowiak.
He served for 2 years in Korea while in the Air Force from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean War, Bill retired as a Tool and Die Maker for the GM BOC Fab Plant in Lordstown, Ohio where he was highly respected by all. He loved woodworking, fishing, and just being out with family and friends. Bill was always good for telling jokes to keep everyone laughing and smiling. He and his daughter Kim spent many nice days together on the golf course. He was also a member of the pool league of the Leetonia OSI with his daughter Jenni. Bill was close with his grandchildren Josh, Steven, and Brea, and loved to attend all their sporting and school events. As a father and husband he was a hard worker who always took care of his family first.
He is survived by his children; Mark Janowiak(Judy) of Salem, Kim (Anthony) Clark, of Guilford Lake and Jennifer Burnham of Leetonia, siblings, Margaret Maura in Flordia, Ann Hatfield in Maryland and John Janowiak in West Virginia, grandchildren Josh(Allyson), Steven(Tori), Brea and great-grandchildren, Payne and Pierce; step-grandchildren, Amanda, Niki, Tori, and Merideth.: step-great-grandchildren, Nora, Katie, Adam, Marisa, Ryder, Brook.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on May 11, 2016, by his wife of 65 years Wilma L. (Jones) Janowiak whom he married on March 9, 1951. Also preceded by siblings; Joseph Jr., George, and Mary Janowiak.
Due to the Covid-19 virus, the funeral will be private for the family. The services will be 11 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. The Funeral will be live-streamed starting at 10:30 AM. The Tri-State Veteran's Burial Group will be in charge of the services and rendering honors. The link for the live stream will be posted here on our website apgreenisenfh.com and on our Facebook page 30 minutes prior.
