Obituary

William Sawhill 55, of Columbiana, died early Wednesday morning on September 3, 2025, at Aventura at Assumption Village in North Lima, Ohio.

He was born October 31, 1969, in Salem, the son of Sandra Lee (Beckwith) Sawhill and the late James Thomas Sawhill.

Will enjoyed watching and playing pool and going to the Covelli Center in Youngstown to watch PBR (Professional Bull Riders). He loved to participate in Poker Runs and riding his Yamaha motorcycle. He was an outdoorsy type loving camping and fishing and things in nature. Will was a huge animal lover including all types of farm animals especially horses, and small pets like snakes. He had a very spontaneous side of him, to just grab a bag, jump in the car and head out to some place. In his younger years he was one to be a bit of a Dare Devil, trying to do things and receiving some scars to prove it.

In addition to his mother of Petersburg, he is survived by his daughter Kayla Nicole Sawhill and his daughter's mother, Nancy J. Sawhill both of Boardman, his longtime companion and caregiver Carolyn Jernigan of Columbiana, and her children, Angela Viglio of Canfield, Alan Kemper of Canfield, Nicole Wagner of Leetonia and Adam Schmidt of Petersburg, as well as 11 grandchildren, and his siblings; Jeffrey (Kimberly) Rudrick of Austintown, Deborah (Chris) Trumpower of North Carolina, Christine (Jeffery) Snair of Leetonia, LaVonne (Bobby Stewart) Allison of New Waterford, Jay Sawhill of Petersburg, Joy (John) Bistarkey of Leetonia, Jody (Wayne) Sawhill of New Springfield, and Patrick (Katrina) Sawhill of North Carolina.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his 2 nephews Charles James "CJ" Shacklock and Keith Allison, and Carolyn's son, Thomas R, Schmidt.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, September 27, 2025, 2 PM at Abundant Life Fellowship (46469 State Route 46 New Waterford, Ohio 44445). A time for gathering will follow in the fellowship hall of the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Greenisen family of the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
