Austin Michael Moore, 22, of Wellsville, lost his hard fought battle at 4:55 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born November 1, 2000, in Salem, son of Fred Moore and Stacy Custer.
Austin was a fun loving, family oriented, incredibly caring, one of a kind person. He cherished time spent with his family and friends, sitting by the fires he would start or having parties for everyone’s entertainment. He was very hands on, loving to wrench on cars, four wheelers, and motorcycles; anything with a motor was no match for Austin. Not only could he fix them, he was fond of riding them too, especially four wheelers. Austin even had a huge collection of Hot Wheels to further show his affinity for anything with tires. He was also an outdoorsy type and could be found practicing his aim at targets or trying to land that “monster fish” in the river. Austin was a hard worker and provider for his family and got great enjoyment from helping others. But, he was also goofy and smart and definitely liked to clown around. He was one of those rare souls that could find the good in everything, he found joy in life and enjoyed it to the end. Austin was a fighter and even in the worst of times could still find humor in his situation.
He is survived by his wife, Mya Rae (Fidoe) Moore, his two children Hazel and Hayden, his siblings Paula (Dusty) Haught, Jeffrey Custer, and Viola, Clinton, and Vicky Moore.
No services to be held. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Greenisen family at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
