Barbara L. (Lydic) Babik 86, The Lord came early Wednesday evening, May 4, 2022, while she was praying and took her on her final journey home to Heaven.
She was born on May 18, 1935 in Cherry Tree, Pa., the daughter of Howard T. and Adah (Breth) Lydic Sr.
Barbara lived in Pennsylvania until 1951, moved to Youngstown area until 1980, when she finally settled in the Salem area.
She was a housekeeper for numerous families and several business over the years. She was a devout christian, and attended the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Bible Holiness Church in Salem and currently the Fairmount Emmanuel Church in Alliance. Barbara also enjoyed visiting churches for revivals and area camp meetings.
Barbara loved to cook and bake over the years. It was not uncommon for her to have family over for a visit and cook them something. She loved her family and always tried to keep up with all of them over the years. There was a time that she spent living in Dripping Springs, Tx. With her daughter.
When she was able, periotic visits were made to Amish Country to shop and look for special quilting things, and of course a good meal. Barbara enjoyed the outdoors, playing with flowers, making things nice and a place to sit and soak in all of Gods beautiful things. She was big into sowing and making beautiful hand made quilts. In the more recent years, she made friends with a lot of her neighbors, and testified to all about what God had done for her over her life.
She is survived by her children: Kathy (Mayberry) Fiumara of Dripping Springs, Tx, Barbara (Robert)(Mayberry) Greenisen of Salem, and H. Joseph Babik of Rogers, grandchildren: Anthony Fiumara and Daniel Greenisen, great grand daughter Sophia Fiumara.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by all her siblings: Maude Rich, Benjamin Lydic, Millie Vereckey, Alice Dominick, Howard Lydic Jr., and Roy Lydic.
Services will be on Thursday, May 12, 2022, 1 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Creamtion Services, Salem, the Rev. Aaron Echols of the church will be officiating. The burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. A time of visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 Pm and from Noon to 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
