Charles Millard Buckley Sr., 76, of Lisbon, died at 8:58 PM Friday, July 29, 2022, at Salem Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
He was born at home in Gavers, Ohio, one of seven special blessings of Everett and Kathryn (Geer) Buckley.
He grew up in the Lisbon area, graduated in 1964 from David Anderson High School. Charles served in the US Army for over 3 years, then returned to the area and became a truck driver until he recently retired.
He enjoyed being outdoors and in nature. He followed his fathers foot steps as they were out fishing and hunting a lot. Charles was an avid golfer and played on two golf leagues until a week ago. In Salineville at Beaver Meadows Golf course and Sundays at Valley Golf Course in Columbiana. He liked to kick back, share stories, talk sports and the Browns, and relax at the Lisbon Eagles Club with his buddies. Once the daily things were done, he would settle back with the TV on watching a good sporting event or game.
He is survived by his siblings; Kenneth Buckley and Janette (Edward Jr) Pettigrew both of Lisbon, Margaret and Mary Buckley both of Chapel Hill, NC, and a son; Charles M. Buckley Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Marvin and Edward Buckley.
He will be buried at West Beaver Church Cemetery.
There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering on August 13, 2022, at the Lisbon Eagles Club from 2 to 4 PM. Please come out and share some good memories with the family and friends.
