Deborah (Dee) A. Hart 72, of Mogadore (Formerly of Salem) died at 10:14 AM Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Akron Summa Hospital.
She was born on April 10, 1951, in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late Blaine Franklin and Naomi J. (Fidoe) Hart.
She was a 1969 graduate of United Local High School, a 1972 graduate of the Firestone School of Nursing, and a graduate of the University of Akron with her Bachelor degree in Nursing. Deborah was also a certified EMT.
She retired after 45 years from Akron Summa Hospital as an RN in the Emergency Department. She had also worked at St. Thomas Hospital.
Dee had two main things that she enjoyed in life, being a nurse but her true passion in life was her quilts. She was very well known as the owner of Dee’s Quilted Treasures as well in the quilt guilds. She was currently in the United Quilt Guild in Salem (President and Secretary), Steffy Road Quilters in Mogadore for 15 years, Portage Patchers Quilt Guild in Mogadore and Ohio Longarm Guild (Co-chair Vice President). She was also a Studio 180 Certified Instructor and taught from home the “Tucker Ruler System”. Deborah also entered many of her quilt creations in fairs and other quilting events and received many awards.
She is survived by her brother Reed (Vivian Fiets) Hart of Lisbon, nieces and nephews; Scott, Drew (Dawn) and Kari Hart, great nieces and nephews; Chasity and Trent Kellogg and Dakota, Heaven, and Caiden Hart.
Services will be held on Saturday, 2 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (1617 E. State St., Salem, Ohio 44460) Rev. Kevin Carson will be officiating. The burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A time of visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 Pm at the funeral home. (If you are planning to attend the services, please wear something purple.)
