Donald Crane Obituary

Donald N. Crane of Negley, Ohio, died September 24, 2021 at his home.  He was 78 years old, born November 16, 1942 in Endicott, WV to the late Don R. and Lovie Pearl (Anderson) Crane.  He was employed as a Millwright with Union Local #1090 for 50 years, serving in several capacities. He was past president of the Executive Council, attending their international conventions.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Don felt deep roots to the farm in Wileyville, WV, which has been in his family for over 100 years.  Many good times were spent there with his sons and extended family. Hunting seasons were particularly memorable.  He loved his horses and was an avid rider most of his life, maintaining a membership in the American Quarter Horse Association.   Another interest was skeet shooting and he was known for his skill at the Trumbull County Sportsman’s Club.  He was also a lifelong member of the NRA.

Don is survived by his wife Alice Marie Briones, sons Donald Todd Crane (Cynthia), Christopher Neil Crane, daughter Dawn Renee Haught (Damon), 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Helen November (Jim) and Debra Myers (Ron).  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters Marguerite Zabinski (John), Maxine Beckner and Carol Becker.

Per Don’s request, no service was held.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, Administrative Offices, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH
