Donald Thomas “Tom” Muir 58, of New Waterford, died at 3:35 PM Thursday, July 22, 2021, in the emergency room of Mercy Health/St. Elizabeth Hospital – Boardman.
He was born on January 27, 1963, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Donald David and Effie Mae (Moldovan) Muir.
He has lived in the area his whole life. A 1981 Graduate of East Palestine High School and a member of the Abundant Life Fellowship Church. Tom was the owner-operator of an HVAC business.
Tom’s life and everything he did was wrapped around the love of his life, Judy. He took his wife on numerous vacations over the years. Tom was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family and grand babies. He could be a very loving and caring person but at the same time be a bit bullheaded. He was famous for having many projects going on at any given time, getting them finished was another story.
Tom is survived by the love of his life that started in 1979, Judith Marie (Gordon) Muir, whom he married August 13, 1983, and his children; Ashley Marie (Matthew Paul) Garver of Columbiana, Lindsay Alexandria Muir of Negley, Donald Thomas (Lauren Michelle ) Muir Jr. of Columbiana, Marshall Allen Muir, Sophia Grace (Bradley) Shipley, Gregory James Muir, David George Muir, Annie Mae Muir, and Donald David Muir II all of New Waterford and Gabrielle Elizabeth Muir of Painesville, 6 Grandchildren; Matthew Paul Garver, Joshua Alexander Garver, Maximus Eli Garver and Natalynn Marie Garver, Bradley Calvin Shipley and Zacchaeus Dean Shipley, and sisters; Beth Ann (Thomas) Davis of Columbus and Melodie Heiland of New Waterford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Violet Irene Muir, siblings; David Neal Muir, Donna Berg, and Bonnie Muir (Beth’s twin sister).
The family has chosen to not have public calling hours and funeral. A private family gathering and viewing was held Saturday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
