Emma Byers Obituary

Emma Mae (Coleman) Byers, 66, of Washingtonville, died at 5:23 AM on Monday September 12, 2022 at Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 10, 1956 in Salem, Ohio, daughter of the late Wilda Pearl (Houshour) and Edward M. Coleman.

Emma was a full time mother and she delighted in taking care of her home and especially her three children. She possessed great artistic ability and it showed in her love of crafting, knitting, cross-stitching, and painting. Emma had a natural talent for growing plants, her gardens always overflowed with beautiful flowers and there was an abundance of vegetables for her family to enjoy. When able she liked to attend St. Patrick Parish in Leetonia. But most importantly she loved her grandchildren very deeply and they were her world.

She is survived by her son Ted (Angie) Edwards of East Liverpool, her daughters Lisa M. (Paul) Davis of East Liverpool and Wendy (Brad) Davison of Niles, her three siblings Edward John Coleman, Robert Donald Coleman, and Shirley Ann Coleman all of Salem, as well as 9 grandchildren, and Emma’s comfort cat named Kitty.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 15 years, Michael Byers and two granddaughters.

There are no services at this time but her family plans to have a private celebration of her life at a later date.

Care was entrusted to the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
