Ernst August Kramer, 92, of North Lima, died at 6:40 PM on Friday, October 30, 2020, at Hampton Woods in Poland, Ohio.
He was born on April 1, 1928, in Columbiana, to the late John and Pauline (Gunnish) Kramer.
A graduate of Columbiana High School, Ernst exhibited from a very young age an intelligence and mechanical mindedness that not only gave him the ability to see a problem, but afforded him the skill to solve any problem or puzzle before him. This gift aided him well as a line construction employee for Ohio Edison for 35 years and as part of a tree crew as well. Although Ernst was a quiet man, that did not keep him from having an adventurous spirit. Ernst belonged to Rick’s Skydiving Club where they would travel to Petersburg, Ohio where from 1959 through 1985, Ernst parachuted over 4000 times. If he wasn’t soaring through the clouds, he was putting the pedal to the metal and racing his 1944 Ford Coop, that he modified himself, at the Canfield Speedway. As grand as his adventures were, so was the size of his heart. Ernst gave charitably to many organizations and those in need. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family, and all who had privilege to have their paths cross.
Ernst is survived by his siblings; John Kramer, Pauline Schneider, Emil Kramer, and George “Bob” Kramer, as well as nieces and nephews.
At Ernst request, there will be no services.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Abraugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
