Gail Daus Obituary

Gail Ann (Jones) Daus, 85, of Hanover Twp, (formerly of Girard), OH, passed away at 1:15 a. m. on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at home with family nearby.

She was born on November 9, 1935, to her parents; the late Sherwood and Lyda (Weibert) Jones.

Gail was a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and lived most of her life in the Girard and Austintown area. She was affiliated with the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ. Gail married her husband; Louis Daus Sr., in December of 1973. They spent 29 years together before his passing in 2002. Gail was employed over the years as a Sales Clerk in local Kmart department stores in Boardman, Austintown, and Youngstown on Belmont Ave. Her favorite part of her job, hands down, was getting to visit with the customers. It was the highlight of her day. She liked to keep herself busy. Some of the things that she enjoyed to do was playing cards, word search puzzles, and cross word puzzles. She liked to talk a bit on the phone as well...especially if it was to her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Gail is survived by her daughter; Lori (Don) Muffley of Hanover Twp, daughter-in-law; Susan MacDougall of New Castle, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sister; Jean Knable of Austintown.

In addition to her husband and parents, Gail is preceded in death by her son; Lynn MacDougall, 4 sisters and 1 brother.

There will be no services at this time.
